Meet Gina Watson

  • Gullah Artist

    Charleston Native, Roginia "Ms. Gina" Watson, specializes in her signature handmade Gullah Dolls and Gullah Doll inspired Artwork from her remote studio located Mount Pleasant, SC.

    Her artistry began very young being taught the art of Sweetgrass Basket weaving from her Grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Venning-Stokes. Gina would spend days with her grandmother harvesting or weaving basket starter knots at the Historic Charleston City Market.

    From their she attended The Art Institute of Charleston with a Major in Photography. Together her two passions, tradition & art took flight in the creation of Gullah Keepsakes LLC.
