Gullah Doll Making Workshop (Group)

Step into the rich traditions of the South Carolina Lowcountry through an unforgettable hands-on Gullah Doll Making Experience led by renowned Gullah Artist Gina Watson, founder of Gullah Keepsakes.

More than an arts and crafts workshop, this interactive cultural experience invites guests on a storytelling journey through the history, resilience, creativity, and traditions of the Gullah Geechee people. As Gina shares the origins and significance of the iconic Gullah Doll, participants will discover how these handcrafted keepsakes have become enduring symbols of heritage, strength, and community.

Guided step-by-step, each guest will create their very own authentic-inspired Gullah Doll using traditional materials and techniques while hearing captivating stories that bring Lowcountry culture to life. No artistic experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn, create, and connect.

Throughout the 90-minute experience, guests will enjoy:

• A warm welcome and introduction to Gullah Geechee culture
• Engaging storytelling led by Gullah Artist Gina Watson
• Hands-on instruction to create a personalized Gullah Doll to take home
• Insight into the symbolism, history, and craftsmanship behind each doll

Following the workshop, guests are invited to stay for an Artist Meet & Greet, where they'll have the opportunity to ask questions, take photos with Gina Watson, and learn more about her artistic journey.

The experience concludes with an exclusive Authentic Gullah Keepsakes Showcase, featuring Gina Watson's original handcrafted Gullah Dolls and cultural artwork available for purchase. Guests will have the unique opportunity to own an authentic piece of Gullah artistry directly from the artist.
